I called HP and I became convinced that they have designed these printers to milk buyers with consumable including Ink and Paper! Why would a product designer add a feature to BLOCK a printer to print Black & White when the "Color" ink is out!!?We have since junked our HP Printers and have purchased LexMark which eats very little ink and when it does't the ink only costs $15 for color and $10 for B&W.
