For my Artisan 810 I have 6 Claria ink cartridges. A single new "Epson" cartridge will run me $20-$25. I decided to hook up a Continuous Ink System that has a separate tank with 6 colors wired into my printer that allows me to refill my own tanks with cheap ink and print forever. I have used all of these colors so far and printed great prints on Epson Photo Paper. I got 6 huge bottles for $30 and they will last me 4 years of college, I bet.

Claria ink is a dye based ink which means it has to be absorbed and on photo papers only Epson makes the right paper for it to absorb, anything else will smear. I personally don't like Claria ink. I would rather use a pigment based ink that allows you to print on anything like on my old Epson C60. However, the Artisan 810 is such a terrific machine that I have to put up with it. Don't be fooled into buying Epson ink. You will replace a cartridge every month at least if you even do a slight-moderate amount of printing. A great CIS... Read more

We bought this to re-fill cartridges and found that it works just as well as the Epson brand ink. We can't tell difference. You can't beat the price and it will last for a very long time.

*Note that you must have either re-fillable catridges or a continuous ink system. This won't work with normal Epson cartridges.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Item for people who are frustrated with cartridges!!, February 23, 2012

I have been running this system for 2-years, printing photos and documents. When the system got low on ink, as indicated by the line on the ink system, the quality dropped out. I ordered this replacement ink, and viola! Perfect photos and docs!
One set of refills can almost refill twice...
Refilling this takes a little thought.
At first, I got ink on my fingers. Then I stopped what I was doing, started using scissors and a paper towel to open the refills, and everything went fine.
It is straight forward and simple. I reviewed the directions to make sure it was as obvious as it looks.
Wear gloves, or expect ink on your fingers.
Or pay $20 a cartridge for .5 oz of ink.
This system, and it's replacement ink has already paid for itself twice.
